We wanted to continue the mission we had started in Kigaramango and do it in SOBEL (but destiny led us to KINYINYA 2, this other site which had sheltered the displaced population and which took in part of the population that was in KIGARAMANGO. Since MSF was the main medical actor and was packing up, our mission continued in the health post installed by MSF in KINYINYA 2.
We contacted the District Medical Officer, he advised us to go to Kinyinya 2 because MSF was leaving and there was another active medical actor in SOBEL.
The Kinyinya Site hosted more than 9000 Internal Displaced People and mainly were women and children.
We went and started our work. Medical consultations, wounds care, psychosocial and mental health support and sometimes obstetrical ultrasounds punctuate our days, thrice a week for 17 months.
